While planning a trip to Gangwon Province,
I found myself wondering,
"Is there a place that isn’t crowded, has a view of the sea, and still feels atmospheric?"
That’s how I stumbled upon Nine Beach 37, a hidden café located in Donghae City.
There were barely any reviews and almost no info online,
so I was honestly worried it might have closed down.
Still, trusting the business hours listed on Naver Map, I decided to go—
and I’m so glad I did!
It turned out to be one of the most peaceful, aesthetic, and healing places I’ve ever visited.

There’s a free public parking lot right in front of the café,
which makes access super convenient. No stress!
🌴 Exterior – A Tropical Resort Vibe by the Sea
The first thing that caught my eye was the combination of the endless East Sea
and the artificial palm trees lining the beach.
I literally thought, “Wait… are we really still in Korea?”
The café is a stand-alone building with a large open yard,
and with hardly any people nearby, it felt like a private escape.
Perfect for quietly enjoying the view of the ocean.
🪑 Interior – Ocean Views from Every Seat
Inside, the café features huge windows that provide a full ocean view,
so you can stay out of the sun while still soaking in the beachy vibe.
They also have a rooftop area, which I didn’t get to explore this time—
but I’m already dreaming of coming back to watch the sunset with a beer.

They offer the usual coffee, drinks, and desserts,
but also serve simple pizzas and a variety of beers.
It’s definitely more than just a coffee shop—
It had a beach pub feel, ideal for relaxing after a surfing lesson.
🍺 My Visit – A Morning Coffee... and Maybe a Beer
The original plan was to stop by for beer at sunset.
But because of some last-minute changes, we ended up visiting in the morning.
So we said, “Let’s just grab a coffee,” and walked in casually.
But the place was so pretty, the view so amazing...
We couldn’t help but say, “Screw it, let’s have a beer anyway.” 😂
Honestly, the drinks or snacks weren’t the main attraction here.
It was the sea itself that served as the perfect pairing.
The gentle breeze and the peaceful mood melted all my stress away.
⭐ Overall – A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering
With so few reviews online, I wondered if it was even real.
Turns out, it’s a spot mostly known to locals and surfers—
a true healing hideaway.

If I return to Gangwon again,

but during the off-season, this was the perfect secret beach spot.
